So, for anyone here from IWC (or anyone else, it's not like there's anyone else here), the dice rolls appear below the posting space, while you make a new post to a thread (but not the first one). After that, an automatic post comes up with the results.

Hey. I'm going to try to demonstrate the die roll.

Ok,so the rolling works.

But first,we should decide on the setting,some rules and the rotation(how much time everyone has to tell the story and to play).

I was a pure fantasy player once,but now Ive been corrupted by cyberpunk/fantasy mesh.Anyhow,I propose a cyberpunk setting in an alternate modern world(no magic,but yes lasers,plasmas,etc).It seems to me the simplest setting to start with these rules without any modifications.

As for playing,I propose that everyone has 24 hours to make their move(counting from the last full turn by everyone,so that if everyone is here at the same time turns could go faster,but if someone isnt here,they still have the same chance),and everyone should have a week to tell their story before someone else has a go.New players that already have experience in role playing should get a go as soon as the current story tellers week ends once they register.Those that are playing for the first time can decide when to jump in.The initial rotation should be decided by a d20 roll.

If we cannot agree on something by the rule of majority,a d20 roll should be the decider.

Also,having two or three separate threads for the game would also be nice.One for playing the game and the rolls,and one for out of character discussions(like this little tirade of mine).Alternatively,one thread could be dedicated just to the current game master,so that at all times the story could be reread easily.If introduced,than this thread would also have summed what happend to everyone after each day,written by the current game master.

Cyberpunk is nice. I was going to suggest clockpunk, but I doubt anyone else would enjoy that.

I'm not really sure what "cyberpunk" is, but I'll go along with it.
Oh, and seeing DL as a girl is really weird...I know that's irrelevant but...just saying...

Cyberpunk is usually a dark gritty future,where you have cyborgs and advanced weaponry,where hackers jack in directly into computers and fight firewalls in virtual reality.Matrix is a world of cyberpunk.And so is blade runner and johny mnemonic.Basically,its a world where quality of life is poor,but technology is booming.

Clockpunk is a version of cyberpunk,but in preindustrial era,with a twist of clockwork weaponry and robots.

And I am using the female avatar on IWC too.Its just a darker picture there.

OK, that sounds interesting. I'd be glad to try that.

Well,that should really be up to the first gamemaster.But yes,I too am using existing maps for cyberpunk,so I agree there.

Well we can always switch settings.The system is flexible.

So how many will be playing from the very begining?Everyone playing raise your hand and say "Yo!".

And should we have 2 or 3 threads dedicated to this?

Anyway,to move things forward,Ill start the roll for the GM order(those that dont have experience in GMing can jump in whenever they feel ready).Also,do all of you agree that GMs change on weekly basis,or do you have some other time frame in mind?

One week is fine by me, but I may wait awhile before I try being GM. I need to learn from others' example first.

I'm in a similar predicament, as I have very little idea what I should do as GM.

Ill wait for 24 hours to pass before wipping something up(and oppening the correct threads to maintain this as orderly and easy to follow as possible).

In the mean time,we can wip up our characters.

And so that my character would have the same chances as everyone elses,lets assign numbers for attacks,random bad/good things and similar.Since currently there are four of us,lets go join dates.So that would make Strong Vader 1,AnnieFan 2,Taneb 3,and me as 4.

So,character creation.All of you roll 5d20 and 5d8,add those together and write the final results as shown in the sheet.You may roll a d6 at the same time,or do in in another post,to decide which die to use for your hitpoints.Then roll the hitpoints.

If you dont like the results,youll be allowed another roll.Then pick one of those 2 which you like better.

So,lets start dicing.

Ouch...That sucks...But it has an interesting flavor,so Ill go with it.Lets see what my hit points are.

Anyway,that means I have 22 hit points.

Well thats nice...I guess...Tomorrow Ill come up with some name,appearance and history(not really that required,but is good to set the mood).

By the way,how do you guys feel about the setting being in japan,near tokyo?I think that would be neutral ground for all of us.
